Braderick Jones, a mechanic in Wisconsin, had always lived paycheck to paycheck, never developing a budget or a savings account. He and his family had to borrow money frequently just to pay the bills. "I never really thought about budgeting money. We never accumulated any savings. Anytime anything unexpected happened, my family had to borrow money," Jones said. All this changed when he received a Wisconsin Saves flyer at his housing complex. Read his story.

At this year's luncheon we are honored to have North Carolina State Treasurer Janet Cowell as our keynote speaker. During the luncheon CharlotteSaves will honor Goodwill of the Southern Piedmont who is playing a significant role in promoting financial self-sufficiency among Charlotteans and their staff. Mark Mathis, of Fox News Rising will be our master of ceremonies.
